Simply put, it’s a place for you/them to stay totally drug & alcohol free until you/they are able to obtain your/their own totally drug & alcohol free housing. This could range from a mat on a floor in a shelter too, to a bed in a semi-private or private room. But (sober living) transitional housing will almost always involve a group of unrelated people living together totally drug & alcohol free.
