Washington Charities and Assistance Organizations

 

In addition to the various organizations and charities that provide aid below, there are additional government programs in Washington that can provide help.

Avista
Project Share is a community assistance program that provides grants to those in need to help pay heating bills, without regard to their heating source.

 

Cascade Natural Gas
They run a charity program that helps pay gas bills of Washington families in need of help.

 

Chelan PUD, City of Richland
Helping Hands is a charity program that is funded by customer donations that help other customers in a time of need with a one time cash grant.

 

City of Port Angeles
Pass the Buck is a voluntary donation and it will assist lower income city residents with their utility bills.

 

Cowlitz County PUD, Klickitat PUD, Pacific County PUD, Puget Sound Energy
These companies have various charity and aid organizations. For example, Warm Neighbor Program, Warm Home Fund, or Operation Warm Heart. These programs all offer heating or utility bill aid.

 

FareStart
This is a job training and placement program for disadvantaged families and individuals. They also serve meals to Washington families in need of help. This charity helps families achieve self-sufficiency through job training, life skills, and employment opportunities.

 

Legal assistance programs
Several non-profit law firms and attorneys provide free legal services and consultations to state residents.

 

The Millionair Club Charity's
This organization is focused on helping those in Washington who want to work toward self-reliance. They provide day labor for an opportunity for people to earn a wage, hot meals to fuel their labor, basic medical and eye care to focus on the job at hand, and social services to support readiness to work.

 

Pacific Power, Ferry County PUD, Grays Harbor PUD, Okanogan Co. PUD, Peninsula Light Company
Project HELP is a heating bill assistance program.

 

 

Seattle City Light, Ferry County PUD, Lewis County PUD, Mason County PUD 3, Modern Electric Water Company

Project SHARE is a charity program for customers who have received an electric bill or heating shut off notice. It will provide grants of up to $500 of your heating or electric bills.

 

Snohomish Co. PUD
Project Pride provides electric bill grants. The American Red Cross runs this program.

 

Tacoma Power
The offer the Family Need program, which is an assistance program for utility and heating bills.

 

Washington Women's Employment & Education

This charity helps people break the cycle of poverty and also build self-confidence. They will provide computer skills, ongoing housing, life coping strategies, job training and readiness, and also work experience internship programs to those in need of assistance
